WHY I DESIGNED THE BOWL
For Christmas 2003 my son presented me with a black
Labrador puppy, she was a real beauty and all was well,
that was until feeding time, NEVER had I seen anything
devour food so quickly then steal two Jack Russells and
then onto the cats food, she was like a manic solar
powered hoover, in the blink of an eye all had disappeared
only to all reappear seconds later usually over my clean
floor. I dreaded feeding time ,and even more so cleaning
up !!
I tried ever method and every gadget available on the
market, but all failed miserably.
Watching her eat one day reminded me of a horse we had
many years ago who would bolt his food and sometimes get colic,
so we use to put large stones or a brick or two in the
manger this is what gave me the idea of the GOBBLENOT.
The center of the bowl had to go as this was where the
first mouthful was gulped from two sweeps around the
side and the job was done.
So I set to work with an egg box and a cardboard box and
made a prototype, much to the amusement of my family
who all agreed I”d finally lost the plot !!! Undeterred with
the help of a friend I made a ceramic version and finally
with baited breath I presented to Jazz, and to my
amazement and great relief it worked, it took her at least
five times longer to eat, and as she was unable to ingest
large amounts of food and air there was no more
reappearing of food hooray !! and by this time although
out of sight all else had finished, even the cats. |

HOW IT WORKS
By the specific positioning of the base
knobbles, this creates four pockets with
stream openings, the side knobbles create
an obstruction with a stream underneath.
When food is added it sits in and around
the pockets and as the dog eats, the food
slides around the pockets through the
streams and under the side knobbles .so
only small amounts of food can be
acquired and due to to the raised base
knobbles the dog can not grab large
amounts of food. If a little water is
added, this will make the food slide even
more and as the Gobblenot seems to have
a novelty factor to it almost like a game
it keeps them occupied for quite some
time.
Whilst I would lay no medical or magical
cures to the Gobblenot, I believe it could
be beneficial for dogs who suffer from colic,
choking, blockages and other gastric
related disorders. So for all you dog
owners out there, who dread feeding the
hoover , I wish you and you mutt well,
but if all else fails try the GOBBLENOT
Good Luck,
NICOLA AND JAZZ.
